Privacy Policy
What this site collects, which is nothing beyond ordinary hosting logs, and how site search, outbound links and correction requests are handled.
This site is operated by Jack Lau and published under the name Ecommerce Wholesale Distributors. There is no separate registered company behind it, and this policy describes what the site actually does rather than what a template assumes.
The short version: the site collects nothing. It has no accounts, no forms, no newsletter, no cookies and no analytics. What follows is the detail.
What the site does not do
- No cookies. The site sets none, and loads no third-party script that could set one.
- No analytics. No analytics product is installed.
- No advertising or tracking pixels.
- No accounts, logins or user profiles.
- No forms. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup and no comment system.
- No third-party embeds. No fonts, scripts, videos or images are loaded from other domains. Every asset on every page is served from this site.
The practical consequence is that there is no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Hosting logs
The site is served as static files from a hosting provider. Like any web host, that provider records ordinary request logs, which typically include an IP address, a timestamp, the URL requested, and a browser user-agent string.
These logs are generated by the infrastructure, not by anything on the page. They are used for delivering the site and for security purposes such as absorbing abusive traffic. They are not combined with anything else, not used to build a profile, and not sold or shared for advertising.
Site search
The search page loads a static index file into your browser and matches your query against it locally. The query itself never leaves your device — it is not transmitted, not logged and not stored.
The hosting logs described above will show that the search page and the index file were requested, in the same way they show any other page request. They do not contain what you searched for.
Links to other sites
Guides on this site cite external sources — trade bodies, customs authorities and regulators — and link to them. Those links are ordinary hyperlinks, not embeds: nothing from those sites loads until you choose to follow the link.
Once you do, you are on their site and their privacy practices apply. This policy covers only what happens here.
The editorial contact address in the footer is used for corrections and source queries. If you write, the message and your address sit in an ordinary email inbox for as long as is useful to handle the exchange.
That address is not added to any mailing list, because there is no mailing list. It is not shared, and it is not used to contact you about anything other than the thing you wrote in about.
Your requests
If you want to know whether anything relating to you is held, or want correspondence deleted, write to the address in the footer and say so. Given the above, the honest answer to most such requests is that nothing is held beyond an email thread, if you sent one.
Data protection obligations vary by jurisdiction, and this policy is a description of practice rather than a legal opinion. If a specific obligation applies to you as a reader and is not addressed here, raise it at the same address and it will be answered directly.
Changes
This page records what the site does today. If analytics, forms, embedded media or any other data-collecting component is ever added, this policy will be updated in the same change that adds it, and the date above will move. It will not be updated on a schedule for its own sake.
Frequently asked questions
Does this site use cookies?
No. The site sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party scripts that could set them. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Is there any analytics or visitor tracking?
No analytics product is installed, and no advertising or tracking pixels are embedded. The hosting provider records ordinary server logs, which is the only place a request is recorded at all.
What happens when I use the search box?
The search runs entirely in your browser against a static JSON file. Your query is not sent to any server, is not stored, and is not visible to anyone operating this site.
